Economic Expert Witness for Wrongful Death Case

In a wrongful death case, Nevada law allows surviving family members to recover damages for probable financial support, lost companionship, and lost quality of life.  Our economic loss evaluation computes the decedent's earning capacity – what he or she would have earned over her lifetime, then subtract the decedent's personal consumption. However, the jury can count the decedent's personal consumption as part of lost companionship.  Finally, we estimate the market value of the leisure time that the decedent would have spent with family members. If the wrongful death case is also a medical malpractice case, please be advised that there are statutory limitations on the non-economic damages that litigants can claim.
