Lost Earnings Example Report Explained
(Preliminary Report)

Why a preliminary report?

When attorneys retain us, they do not buy our opinion; they compensate us for the time spent. If you only want a preliminary estimate of the economic damages in a case, whether you represent the plaintiff or the defense, your first step is to request a preliminary report. For a fee of $1500, you will receive a one page preliminary estimate of the economic damages, based on the difference between: (1) the position of the plaintiff before the event (e.g., a personal injury) and (2) the position of the plaintiff after that event. If there are several scenarios – for instance, medical professionals are unsure whether the plaintiff's disability is temporary or permanent – we will provide an estimate for each scenario. Your fee of $1500 will be credited to the $3500 retainer if you decide to proceed to the next step.
